Only so-called ”Schönschrift“ (calligraphy) were made into type again and again through the epochs; and this task was difficult and also dissatisfying to carry out due to limited technical printing possibilities before the introduction of Desktop Publishing. Today there isn't even the need for ”fine writing.“ But the need to create the look of a handmade font is increasing, especially on the computer.
